I started my career in Web Development a little late. Prior to this, I spent about 17 years in the Medical Industry and I've been a Veterinary Nurse, a Laboratory Assistant, a Purchaser, a Clinic Manager and a Vet Hospital Manager.

The decision to switch industries was not easy, but I wanted to be a Creator, rather than a Manager. I've always been interested in IT, mainly in Multimedia Design and a short stint at a friend's company as a web administrator provided the nudge towards my career as a web developer.

I spent a year doing online courses before deciding that I needed something more. That's when I found the Web Development Immersive (WDI) coding bootcamp by General Assembly. It provided a brief introduction to the basics such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, as well as a slight foray into back-end web development with ReactJS and Ruby on Rails.

Since WDI, I have been working as a Web Developer with Eight Four Digital where I got to contribute in the creation of beautifully crafted websites, microsites and electronic direct mail (EDMs).

For now, I will continue to hone my skills, create more interesting web products and continue my side quest to find the perfect wallet.
